Tricky Little Leprechaun

The kids and I spent the week before St. Patrick's day preparing for the Leprechaun to come. We had every intention to catch him. Andrew had a plan. He had heard about the stuff Leprechauns do from his friends at school so he was really excited about it all.

Step 1:

Make a rainbow, because that's where they look for gold.
Step 2:
Make a trap with all sorts of luring gold.

Step 3:
Make a sign just so he knows where to go.

The morning of St. Patrick's Day the kids came in to find green footprints everywhere, green milk, green toilet water, a pair of Leprachaun pants stuck in the window (must have been a quick escape), a note, and of course some candy.
As fun as it sounds the kids were really concerned and semi-crying about the mess that the Leprechaun left. They were so distraught that he got painty footsteps all over the place and did so many tricks. I cleaned it up quickly so that they could see it wasn't a big deal and didn't ruin anything. For the rest of the day when ever they would see something out of place or messy, they insisted that the Leprechaun did that too. A cracker under the chair, misplaced papers, a pillow in the wrong bed.....none of which where Leprechaun tricks. Silly kids.

Wonder what will happen on April Fools day.

What fun! Those rippers are lucky to have such a fun, creative mom!

I loved, loved, loved talking to you a couple of weeks ago. We must do it more often!
