Day of fun started with 2 kids begging to have a sleep over in our room last night. We obliged. They fell asleep quick and slept in much longer than usual.
We made some CTR pretzels that Andrew found the recipe for in his magazine.

easy clean up since it was cornstarch and food coloring.

Then came the impromptu hike around the yard or Africa as Andrew would call it. They packed up silly string, tissues, flashlights, water, and a bug catching kit. We had to take out Leah's slippers since her pack was getting a bit heavy. Andrew carried his walkie talkie and left one with me. He checked in often ;) I watched them travel in the yard and even caught a few of their conversations. At one of their water breaks, Andrew told Leah, "You see Leah, tv isn't important, Hikes, are important."
We broke up the day with an hour long bubble bath where they played with those little capsules that turn to animal sponges when put in water.
We made some colored rice. They each got to choose a color, then it sat out in the sun for a few hours.
Once it was dry I found all sorts of stuff to hide in there.

Not sure why but the color seemed to have rubbed off during the hunt for all the stuff. They had a great time though.

We also made some banilla sandwiches and some marshmallow dip for fun treats.
Overall, it required quite a bit of organization to have all the materials and even more energy to keep up with them as they blew through each activity. However, the best part is the inspiration it gave them to take the activity where ever they wanted.
